Whether you are flying one of our new aircraft or your own plane we will help you master it. Our focus is higher performance and Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA).

We are both a Cirrus Training Center and a Diamond Flight Center. The Cirrus provides an excellent platform for beginners as well as advanced aviators looking to transition into an “all glass” airplane.

Our instructors are all dedicated educators. They have a wide range of experience from piston singles to cabin class piston twins to jets and turboprops in the corporate, charter, military, and airline environments.

Our Teaching Philosophy

At IA we use a team teaching concept.  By providing a range of different types of instructors with differing styles of teaching, different levels of experience and backgrounds, we match instructor capability and availability with student needs.

Further, by having a group of instructors that work together as a team, if someone is on a trip or vacation, a student doesn't need to interrupt their training.  They can schedule with someone else knowing that their primary instructor is still very much involved in the training effort.

All our instructors believe in and are skilled in scenario based training.  That methodology has been shown to better prepare pilots to make good aviation decisions and use their aircraft wisely and efficiently.  At the same time, we also recognize there are times when it is appropriate, and perhaps fun, to go out and do maneuvers based training.  Student needs and progress always dictate what will be done and how.

We don’t take our students out to fly unless the necessary academics and preparation have been completed.  We also believe in using computers and training devices to learn before you burn gas. We have the best simulator and fleet of computer and software in the region.

Asking first what the student’s goals and aspirations are before developing a program for the student is the cornerstone of our effort.  We will build an appropriate training program for each student, whether they are just starting out, working on advanced ratings or certificates, maintaining airline/charter level of proficiency and currency, or working their way up to flying turbine aircraft.  With that knowledge in hand we do everything we can to pick the right instructor with the right style and availability to meet the client’s needs.
