ipad

Over one million iPads have been sold since its introduction, and not surprisingly many have found their way into pilot’s hands.

But just how should they be used in aviation?  Certainly for flight planning, but what are the implications in flight?  It is no different than any other new avionics device, you must train thoroughly before taking it into the cockpit.

Independence Aviation is a leader in helping pilots understand this technology and its use in aviation.  Our acclaimed seminar iPad Takes Flight is an overview of the technology in pre-flight, in the cockpit, while flying, and in emergency scenarios.

From these seminars we have developed more in depth class offerings ranging from the basics to advanced use in the cockpit.  These classes are called the iPad Checkout programs.  Details and descriptions are found in the PDF links below.

We offer these classes on a regular basis at the IA classrooms.  If you are interested in hosting a class at your school, flight department or other venue, please contact us and we would love to discuss the options available.
