Upset Recovery—Basic and Advanced
The Basics
This scenario was built with the intent of taking what you learned during your Private Pilot and Instrument Training to the next level. IA utilizes a major advantage that most of our competitors do not have…our FTD (Flight Training Device). The FTD is a full sized cockpit replica of a Cirrus SR-22 complete with 170 degree wrap-around visuals, fully functioning controls and avionics, and incredible flight fidelity. The important part though, is how the FTD is utilized. By introducing these scenarios to you in a controlled environment we are able to put the aircraft into much more perilous flight attitudes than the average pilot will typically experience during the course of normal flight training. The second major advantage is that the sim is non-motion which means that you will not be able to gain an edge from your kinesthetic senses. The pilot will be forced to recovery based solely on what is displayed on his instruments or visuals. Think its easy…come try it!

Advanced Upset Recovery and L-39 Course
This course was designed with the elite aviator in mind. It contains both classroom and simulator elements, but most importantly, towards the end of this course you will have the opportunity to put your newly acquired skills to the test by piloting the Aero Vodochody (Albatros) L-39. What does the L-39 mean to you? How about a tandem seating, full aerobatic, Russian strike training fighter jet! That’s right, IA is offering each participant the chance to live out their childhood dreams of piloting a real life military fighter in upset recovery situations by flying the L-39 on two different missions that will each consist of approximately a one hour sortie (flight).
